INSPECTION & ACCEPTANCE
CONCRETE PIPE SEALERS
Concrete pipe sealers for use as detailed on Standard Road Plan, DR-121, shall meet the requirements of section 4149.04, D, 2 of the Standard Specifications. Approved Products are listed in the Materials Approved Products Listing Enterprise (MAPLE).
ACCEPTANCE
Acceptance of concrete pipe sealers for use on Department of Transportation projects will be based on manufacturer and brand name approval.
Submit the following for Manufacturer and brand name approval:
1. Technical Data sheets and product brochures.
2. SDS sheets for the product.
3. Third party test data.
4. Certification of compliance to Iowa DOT specifications.
An approval will remain in effect unless withdrawn because of deficient test results on monitor samples.
The Construction and Materials Bureau or District Materials offices may sample and test concrete pipe sealers for manufacturer and brand name approval monitoring purposes. Project sample quantity will be at the direction of the Construction and Materials Bureau if requested.
