INSPECTION & ACCEPTANCE

RAISED PAVEMENT MARKERS

 

GENERAL

 

Raised pavement markers intended to provide temporary pavement markings shall meet the requirements of Article 2527.02, , D, 5.

 

ACCEPTANCE

 

Acceptance of raised pavement markers will be on the basis of manufacturer and brand name approval and satisfactory field performance.

 

Approved manufacturers and brand names are listed in Appendix A.

 

MANUFACTURER & BRAND NAME APPROVAL

 

Manufacturer and brand name approval will be based on preliminary inspection and testing of samples submitted by the manufacturer to the Office of Materials.

 

Samples shall consist of at least three markers of each color and the adhesive for installation along with literature describing the marker and its installation. Field trials will be limited to those markers judged to have promise for satisfactory field use as indicated by the preliminary laboratory inspection and evaluation.

 

Approval of raised pavement markers may be withdrawn because of deficient monitor test results; product changes made after original approval, or unsatisfactory field performance.

 

MONITOR SAMPLING & TESTING

 

The Office of Materials may sample and test raised pavement markers to verify compliance with specifications.
