Woodbury County Road Jasper AvenueAug. 15 - Aug. 18 - Construction work for the U.S. 20 expansion project requires the closure of Woodbury County Road Jasper Ave. beginning at 3 p.m. Monday, August 15. The roadway will remain closed until August 18.
Ida County Road M25July 11 - Sept. 1 - Construction work for the U.S. 20 expansion project requires the closure of Ida County Road M25 beginning Monday, July 11, weather permitting. The roadway will remain closed until Sept. 1.
Woodbury County Road L-37April - Sept. 15 - Work on the U.S. 20 improvement project requires the closure of Woodbury County Road L-37 at the intersection with U.S. 20 and 155 Street beginning Thursday, April 14, weather permitting. Traffic on Woodbury County Road L-37 will be detoured onto Woodbury County Road D-22 to Correctionville. The roadways will remained closed to traffic through Sept. 15.
Moville to CorrectionvilleMarch - November - Construction work for the U.S. 20 reconstruction project requires closing U.S. 20 from 10 miles east of Moville to Correctionville beginning Monday, March 14, weather permitting, according to the Iowa Department of Transportation’s Sioux City construction office.
Motorists will be detoured around the construction zone by taking Woodbury County Road L-21 to Woodbury County Road D-22, and then onto Iowa 31. Peterson Contractors Inc. of Reinbeck is the contractor for this $29 million dollar project.
This detour will last until the week of Nov. 21, 2016.
Holstein to Adams AvenueC.J. Moyna & Sons of Elkader, IA was awarded the $36.1 million contract.
Correctionville to HolsteinAmes Construction Inc. of Burnsville, MN was awarded the $62.9 million contract. Construction activity is expected to begin in March.
Construction schedule overviewConstruction of two additional lanes of U.S. 20 between Early and Moville began in 2014. This final 40 miles of the U.S. 20 expansion is scheduled for completion in fall 2018. Once completed, a four-lane U.S. 20 will span Iowa.
