Transit library resources

Transit manager's are able to check out transit library resources from the IDOT via email, from
Leighton Christiansen or Lori Fiscus, or by phone at 515-239-1200. Materials are shipped to transit systems within five business days. The standard loan period is one month. Materials can be renewed in one month increments with approval from the Iowa DOT's library staff.

Basic Spanish for Transit Employees (Seven DVDs and handbooks)	Colorado Mountain College	The pocket handbook contains terms relative to transit and is set up to show both English and Spanish language (for point-and-read translation), and pronunciation. This concise, practical handbook includes basic vocabulary (i.e. days, numbers, telling time), fares/pass situations (i.e. schedule, wheelchair, demand-response), other vocabulary situations (i.e. transfers, wrong bus, no smoking), and references to the video, including video scenarios for the bus driver, customer service and on-demand driver. The video provides clarity by thoroughly covering all of these situations (and more) with simple realism using subtitles, and gives plenty of time for stop and practice.
