PATH
California Partners for Advanced Transit and Highways (PATH) was established in 1986. It is administered by the Institute of Transportation Studies, University of California, Berkeley, in collaboration with Caltrans. PATH is a multidisciplinary program with staff, faculty and students from universities statewide; cooperative projects with private industry, state and local agencies; and nonprofit institutions.

An important function of the TRB is to stimulate research that addresses concerns, issues or problems facing the transportation community.
