Current letting schedule

For the convenience of vendors seeking business opportunities as offered by the Iowa DOT, this site contains bid opportunities for items such as facility projects, equipment, supplies and services. There are two types of bid solicitation. Method used depends on the expected cost of purchase.
  • 1. Formal
A formal, sealed bid procedure is used for purchase of goods and/or services exceeding $50,000.00.

  • 2. Informal
An Informal bid procedure is used for purchase of goods and/or services less than $50,000.00.

  • Request for Information
(RFI) may be sought by the Department at any time for purposes of seeking industry knowledge of products or services.
Pertinent information regarding the bid solicitation along with links to all associated documents.is presented below in three different categories; Formal, Informal or RFI.

Note: If downloading from the internet the vendor must complete and return the Download Acknowledgement Form by clicking this link. This sheet must be emailed or faxed to the listed purchasing agent for the RFP. This sheet informs the agent of a downloaded version and once received by the Iowa DOT, the vendor is added to the plan holder list to ensure notice of addendums.

Please use the furnished mailing label, or label the bid response as  “Iowa Department of Transportation, proposal number & letting date” on the outside of the return envelope.
