Legion of Merit plate
| Who is eligible | A vehicle owner who has been awarded the Legion of Merit as established by the Congress of the United States. A surviving spouse may continue to use the Legion of Merit plate. If the surviving spouse remarries, the plates shall be returned for regular plates. | |
| Requirements | A copy of the official military order DD214 or other documentation approved by the Iowa Office of The Adjutant General verifying the receipt of the Legion of Merit. | |

Applications may also be obtained from your county treasurer's office or the following address. Office of Vehicle Services Telephone: 515-237-3110 Your plates will be sent to your county treasurer's office and staff will notify you when your plates are available. Plates must be assigned to a vehicle within 90 days or the plates will be voided and no refund issued. Your current plates must be exchanged for your new plates. |
