Feb. 20, 2013 update

The Office of Vehicle and Motor Carrier Services is announcing that the deployment date for IAPS has been delayed due to unforeseen complications. The re-scheduled date will be sometime in April or May of this year. This website will be updated again when we have determined the exact date.

Sept. 13, 2012 update

The Office of Vehicle and Motor Carrier Services sent a letter to all customers with an active EZ Permit user account informing the account holders about the Iowa Department of Transportation’s plans to replace EZ Permit with the Iowa Automated Permitting System (IAPS), which will go online in January 2013. Information included an overview of the Iowa DOT’s transition to IAPS.

In that letter, account holders were asked to update their account information and communicate their preferences regarding their security deposit online at: https://mymvd.iowadot.gov/permitsurvey. If you have questions about this transition, account holder information or IAPS, please review the frequently asked questions posted on this website or contact the Office of Vehicle and Motor Carrier Services at
