NOTICE:Planned State of Iowa system upgrades are scheduled for the IFTA and IRP online application over the Thanksgiving holiday weekend. We anticipate this service will be unavailable between 5 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 26, to 9 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 29.
If your IRP renewal expiration is Nov. 30, you need to plan ahead so your renewal is processed prior to Nov. 30. We do not anticipate any issues with the outage, but there is always a chance it could go longer than the scheduled time.
Online filing – at your convenience
There are a lot of positive features to online processing, one is the ability to go to your IRP and IFTA account and see your account details anytime, day or night, whenever it is convenient for you. Beginning with the October IRP renewals and the third quarter IFTA tax returns, you will no longer receive paper renewals or tax returns. Instead, you will receive a reminder letter that it’s time to renew your IRP registrations or file your IFTA tax return. The IRP reminder letter will be mailed 60 days prior to the expiration date of your IRP registrations. The IFTA reminder letter will be mailed 30 days prior to the IFTA tax return deadline. You can then file online when it’s convenient for you.
