Iowa Transportation Commission
approves grant for Des Moines

AMES, Iowa – The Iowa Transportation Commission today approved a Revitalize Iowa's Sound Economy (RISE) Local Development grant application submitted by the city of Des Moines. Up to $2,588,456 will be made available to reconstruct, widen and realign High Street from 10th Street to 14th Street, including the realignment of the
12th Street intersection. Funding for the grant comes from the city share of the
RISE fund.

In addition to providing access for future development, these roadways will serve the proposed Wellmark Blue Cross and Blue Shield campus to be constructed between
11th and 14th streets.
