Iowa Transportation Commission
approves grant for Winnebago County

AMES, Iowa – The Iowa Transportation Commission today approved a Revitalize Iowa's Sound Economy (RISE) Immediate Opportunity grant application submitted by Winnebago County. Up to $150,000 will be made available to assist in the construction of approximately 2,300 feet of Winnebago County roads A-42 and R-34 including right- and left-turn lanes at the intersection of the two county roads.   

The improvements are necessary to provide access to Christensen Farms’ feed mill/distribution facility. The RISE grant will support the creation of 30 news jobs and $15.49 million in associated capital investment. Funding for the grant comes from the county share of the RISE fund.
