Detours at I-80 exit 249 set for overnight Wednesday and Thursday

CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa Interstate 80 traffic will be detoured on the interchange exit and entrance ramps at exit 249 (Herbert Hoover Highway, Johnson County Road F-44) for two nights Wednesday and Thursday, June 27 and 28 from 10 p.m. to 6 a.m. each night. The closures are necessary to separate traffic from the work area during bridge deck removal at exit 249.

Overnight Wednesday eastbound I- 80 traffic will be redirected off the interstate at exit 249, then directed back on the interstate using the eastbound exit and entrance ramps from 10 p.m. to 6 a.m. Thursday morning.

Overnight Thursday westbound I-80 traffic will be redirected off and on the interstate at exit 249 using the westbound exit and entrance ramps from 10 p.m. Thursday to 6 a.m. Friday.

Herbert Hoover Highway will be closed at the interstate overhead bridge between 10 p.m. and 6 a.m. both nights. Each night interstate traffic will be allowed to continue back to the interstate or turn right, but no left turns will be allowed on Herbert Hoover Highway at exit 249.
