Development progress of I-29 section in Sioux City AMES, Iowa – The development progress of Interstate 29 from the BNSF Railroad north to 1.9 miles south of Riverside Boulevard in Sioux City will be discussed at a public meeting Thursday, Nov. 30, 2006. The Iowa Department of Transportation will hold the meeting at the Sioux City Convention Center , Rooms 1 and 2, 801 Fourth Street . The public is invited to attend any time between 5 and 7 p.m. In addition to discussing the downtown segment (segment 2), this meeting will also provide an opportunity to obtain information for the Riverside Boulevard (segment 3) study and the Section 4(f) Resource, Riverside Park . At this meeting the public is invited to review and comment on the proposed de minimis effect of the I-29 and Riverside Boulevard interchange improvement project on Riverside Park . De Minimis impacts on publicly owned parks, recreation areas and wildlife and waterfowl refuges are identified as those that do not “adversely affect the activities, features and attributes” of these areas. No formal presentation will be made at this meeting; however, details of the proposed improvement will be discussed. Iowa DOT staff members will be available between 5 and 7 p.m. to informally discuss the development progress of the highway improvement and the de minimis impacts on Riverside Park.
