Improvement study for a Johnson County interchange initiated  

AMES, Iowa March  24 , 2005 - The Iowa Department of Transportation  is initiating a study of the interchange of Interstate 80 with Interstate 380\ U.S. 218\Iowa 27 near Coralville . This study will investigate the operation and safety of the interchange to determine whether any improvements are warranted.

The  study corridor extends along U.S. 218/Iowa 27/I-380 from 355th Street on the south to 270th Street on the north. The corridor also extends west to east along I-80 between the Tiffin (Ireland Avenue) and Coral Ridge Avenue interchanges .  The width of the study corridor extends approximately one-quarter mile on either side of the existing highways.
