First annual Iowa Aviation Photography Contest a success

AMES, Iowa –  The Iowa Department of Transportation’s Office of Aviation has announced winning entries for the 2004 Iowa Aviation Photography Contest. Hundreds of contest photographs showcasing aviation in the state of Iowa were received.  

Winning and provisional entries for the 2004 contest are now available on the Office of Aviation’s Web site at iawings.com by clicking on "Publications and Education."  

Rules for the 2005 Iowa Aviation Photography Contest are also available on the Web site. Entries for the 2005 contest must be submitted by Oct. 1, 2005.  

The contest allows aviation enthusiasts to combine interests in aviation and photography.  An added benefit of the contest includes the ability of the Office of Aviation to use the pictures to promote aviation. One example included the 2005 Iowa DOT Office of Aviation calendar that uses aviation photos to highlight the wide range and importance of aviation in the state.
