Autumn --- A great time to enjoy a blaze of color in Iowa

AMES, Iowa – Autumn in Iowa is anything but one-dimensional with a bumper crop of fall festivals and special events, the flamboyant fall foliage, harvest season, hunting, football, and the crisper, downward turn of temperatures.  

People often travel hundreds to thousands of miles to see the annual leaf color change in different parts of the U.S., but in Iowa we are fortunate that the autumn beauty is often close by, or just a few hours away from our back door.

The most popular way to enjoy the splashy color of autumn in Iowa is just to get out and do it.  Put on your long-sleeves and get ready to experience the fall fragrances, listen to the dry leaves crunch underfoot, and witness the brilliant yellows, reds, oranges, golds--- even deep purple.
