PP-2004-55 Revitalize Iowa’s Sound Economy (RISE) Default and Proposed Settlement – city of Sigourney

The Commission approved a $14,133 default settlement of a 2000 RISE grant to the city of Sigourney. The default was in connection to the closing of Heartland Handcrafted Homes.

PP-2004-56 Revitalize Iowa’s Sound Economy (RISE) Grant- city of Waterloo

The Commission approved up to $1,359,423 to relocate a portion of River Road north of Commercial Street and construct a Commercial Street extension west through the John Deere Westfield Plant to Westfield Drive.

PP-2004-57 Revitalize Iowa’s Sound Economy (RISE) Grant– city of Anamosa

The Commission approved up to $244,000 to grade and pave approximately 1,700 feet of new roadway in the Anamosa Commercial Park Addition One.

H-2004-58 Jefferson County, U.S. 34 (Fairfield Bypass) Design Public Hearing

An open forum design public hearing was held Aug. 19, 2003, to discuss the proposed four-lane relocation of U.S. 34 in Jefferson County from west of Filbert Avenue to east of Osage Avenue, including a south bypass of Fairfield. One hundred forty-two people attended. This project is part of the improvement of U.S. 34 from Ottumwa to West Burlington. The Commission approved the project as presented and authorized preparation of the final design plans and necessary documents to qualify for federal funding.

H-2004-59 Transfer of Jurisdiction – Iowa 60 and U.S. 75 in Plymouth County

Transfers to Plymouth County a 1.49-mile section of Iowa 60 through the unincorporated community of Seney, and portions of U.S. 75 and Iowa 60 in Plymouth County near the city of LeMars, as well as a new 200th Street connection.  The state will transfer $73,200, which represents the cost to place the roadways in a good state of repair. The proposed transfer will take place upon reconstruction and construction of the segments, the state’s payment to the county, and notification to the county of the time and date of the official transfer.

H-2004-60 Transfer of Jurisdiction – U.S. 75 in Le Mars

Transfers to the city of Le Mars a 1.89-mile section of U.S. 75 through the city. The state will reconstruct U.S. 75 from the corporation limits north 690 feet and will transfer funds of $120,000 which represents the estimated cost to place the balance of the roadway in a good state of repair.  The proposed transfer will take place upon completion of the reconstruction work, any necessary routing repair work, the state’s payment to the city, and notification to the city of the time and date of the official transfer.
