Iowa Transportation Commission to hold public input meeting

AMES, Iowa –  The Iowa Transportation Commission will meet in Osceola Tuesday, Oct. 14, to discuss transportation matters with representatives of local government, interest groups and individuals.

This is the last of four public input meetings being held around the state this year to make it more convenient for representatives of Iowa metropolitan planning organizations, regional planning affiliations, cities, counties, chambers of commerce, economic development groups and other interest groups, as well as individuals, to present ideas and comments directly to the commission.

Items that may be discussed at the meeting include the State Transportation Improvement Program; transportation policies; and highway, aviation, rail, river and transit issues.

The meeting will be held at the Lakeside Casino Resort, 777 Casino Drive, Osceola, beginning at 8 a.m. For more information concerning the meeting, contact the DOT’s Office of Program Management at 515-239-1148.

Monday, Oct. 13, the commissioners will meet informally and tour transportation projects in southwest Iowa. No action will be taken on transportation-related matters during the tour.
