Emergency traffic restrictions to be lifted from
Des Moines River Bridge near Keosauqua

AMES, Iowa – Earlier this week the Iowa Department of Transportation imposed emergency traffic restrictions on the Des Moines River Bridge near Keosauqua on Iowa 1 in Van Buren County.  Those restrictions will be fully lifted by approximately noon, Friday, Aug. 15.  This will open both lanes of traffic on the bridge.

The detour, which had been rerouting heavier vehicles, has been discontinued.  All vehicles are now being allowed to cross the bridge using the single lane that is presently open.  Stop and go traffic signals are currently positioned at both ends of the bridge to control traffic.
