Emergency road closure on I-35 in Warren County

AMES, Iowa –  The Iowa Department of Transportation and Iowa State Patrol will be closing all northbound lanes of I-35 and the inside southbound lane in Warren County effective at 11 a.m., Friday, Aug. 15.   The lane closures and detour will continue for six to eight hours.

The I-35 northbound lanes will be closed from Exit 56, which is the junction of Iowa 92 and I-35, and continue to milepost 65, the Cumming exit. Northbound traffic will be detoured east onto Iowa 92 for two miles and then northeast onto Iowa 28.  Motorists wishing to continue northbound on I-35 will be routed west from the city of Norwalk onto Warren County Road G-14 to I-35.

The closure is due to the removal of a crane from the area that was involved in a crash in the area on Thursday.
