AMES, Iowa – The Iowa Department of Transportation has recently released the 2003-2004 Iowa Airport Directory. According to Roy Criss of the DOT’s Office of Aviation, the cover of the new directory was designed to celebrate the 100-year anniversary of the Wright brothers’ first flight.
The Iowa Airport Directory is printed every other year to update pilots on important airport information, and can be used as a safety tool and planning guide for traveling the state by air. This directory contains several new features, including a state aviation map and community information that pilots will find helpful during their journeys around the state.
Iowa’s air transportation system plays an important role in the state’s transportation network and contributes $834 million annually to its economy.
You can obtain a copy of the directory by visiting the publications order page on the Office of Aviation’s Web site at www.iawings.com. You may also call the Office of Aviation at 515-239-1875.
