IOWA AVIATION PLAN TO BE DISCUSSED AT PUBLIC MEETINGS

AMES, IOWA – Iowans will have an opportunity to provide input on the Iowa Aviation System Plan when the Iowa Department of Transportation’s Office of Aviation hosts six public meetings around the state this month.

The purpose of these meetings is to review the current funding criteria to ensure the best public investment decisions are made as they relate to the development of Iowa’s air transportation system. Items that will be discussed in these meetings include: project priorities, project funding match ratios, and airport system stratification.

The Iowa DOT encourages people to attend the meetings to express their views and provide input on the aviation plan. The meetings will be held at 7 p.m., except for the Atlantic meeting, which will be held at 6 p.m. The dates and sites for the meetings are listed below.

Atlantic – Monday, Dec. 17. Iowa DOT District 4 Office, 63200 White Pole Road.

Ames - Monday, Dec. 17. Council Chambers, Ames City Hall, 515 Clark Ave.

Storm Lake – Wednesday, Dec. 19. Sibens Center, Buena Vista University, 610 W. Fourth St.

Maharishi Vedic City – Wednesday, Dec. 19. RAJ Hotel and Health Spa, 1734 Jasmine Ave.

Charles City – Thursday, Dec. 20. Charles City Council Chambers, 105 Milwaukee Mall.

Monticello – Thursday, Dec. 20. Monticello Community Center, 200 E. First St.
