AMES, IOWA - The 2000 Iowa Airport Conference will be held Sept. 20-21 in Ames, according to Iowa Department of Transportation officials. This annual conference is designed to provide the latest information on advances in the areas of navigation, planning, design, and operation of airports. Attending will be representatives of city government, airport management, administration, design, operations and services, and others areas.
Several speakers from Iowa and across the nation will be featured at this year’s conference, including Iowa DOT Director Mark Wandro and DOT Office of Aviation Director Michelle McEnany. Exhibitors will be present, and Iowa aviation association business meetings are also scheduled.
The conference will be held at Gateway Center Holiday Inn, U.S. 30 & Elwood Drive, Ames, beginning at 9 a.m. Sponsors of the conference are Iowa Public Airports Association, Iowa DOT, Federal Aviation Administration and Iowa State University’s Civil and Construction Engineering Extension.
