Street Financial Report (SFR) Training

Register for the Street Financial Report Classes or the Computer Training.

SFR Classes

The Iowa Department of Transportation invites any city personnel to attend classes related to processing of the Street Financial Report (SFR). There will be two classes held at each location: Morning Class and Afternoon Class. The same information will be covered at each class; it is only necessary to attend one class.

The classes are considered to be a beginner class which will involve all of the steps to complete the SFR from beginning to submitting the report. The classes will be held at each of the listed locations with registration for morning class at 8:45 a.m. starting at 9 a.m. until noon, and afternoon class with registration at 12:45 p.m. starting at 1 p.m. until 4 p.m. Experienced users are also welcome to attend a beginner class.

The class is a great opportunity for individuals who would like to be refreshed on the process, have questions, or have questions about information on the forms. The goal is to cover the following:

• Completing the SFR form
  (including some exercises, it may be helpful to bring a pencil and calculator)
• Online process
• Trouble areas
• Question and answer session

These classes are eligible to be used toward your finance credits.

There will be no fee for attending any of the classes.

Dates and Locations:

Our goal is to reach as many city personnel as possible, so last minute registrations will be accepted. If you need to register at the last minute, please call me at 515-239-1529 before the class date you are interested in so we can check if room is available in that class and have a packet available for you. A CLASS WILL BE CANCELLED IF NOT ENOUGH PARTICIPANTS REGISTER; IF SO, A NOTIFICATION WILL BE SENT.

SFR Computer Classes

In response to requests for more hands-on training, we are offering some computer training at our Ames complex using the Iowa Department of Transportation’s computer lab. The only way we can offer this is to have it at our Ames location in our computer lab. We are not able to bring computers out to our training locations for an actual hands-on training. The goal is to offer assistance in accessing, filling-out, and submitting the report. Our computer lab only has 12 computers so this class is limited to only 12 people. This is an excellent opportunity for first timers. There will be two classes; morning class from 9:00-11:30 a.m., afternoon class from 1-3:30 p.m. When registering for the computer class put your first and second choice. You will be notified of which date you are registered.

View the directions to the Ames complex. The computer lab is located on the second floor of the Iowa DOT Conference Center, located on the corner of Lincoln Way and Elm Avenue. Parking is available immediately north of the building.
