Segment 3: North corridor

Major construction work in segment 3 was completed in 2012 with the reconstruction of the northbound lanes. Construction in segment 3 in 2013 will be limited to erosion control and seeding.

The segment 3 study area is the northern most portion of I-29 in Sioux City. The project area begins just west of the Hamilton Boulevard interchange and continues west to the Big Sioux River at the South Dakota state line. The project area encompasses the existing Iowa 12/Riverside Boulevard interchange.
