I-29 Improvement Project
Northbound I-29 near Sergeant Bluff interchange

Road reconstruction work will require lane closure in both directions of Interstate 29 from 0.5 mile south to 1 mile north of the Sergeant Bluff interchange (exit 141) beginning at 8 a.m. Monday, March 30, for approximately one week, weather permitting, according to the Iowa Department of Transportationís Sioux City construction office.

The closures are required to allow the contractor to prepare the work zone for the I-29 southbound reconstruction project.

Iowa 12/Gordon Drive in downtown Sioux City
March 30 - mid May
Road reconstruction work will require intermittent lane closures on Iowa 12/Gordon Drive in downtown Sioux City beginning Monday, March 30, until mid-May, weather permitting, according to the Iowa Department of Transportationís Sioux City construction office.

The closures are required to work on median and sidewalk construction; and installation of traffic signals, signing, lighting, and erosion control.

Northbound I-29 near the Floyd Boulevard interchange
March 9 - March 30
Road work to prepare for the southbound Floyd River bridge replacement will require closing one of the northbound lanes of Interstate 29 between the I-129/U.S. 20/U.S. 75 interchange (exit 144) and the Floyd Boulevard interchange (exit 147) beginning at 8 a.m. Monday, March 9, until Friday, April 3, weather permitting.

Monday, March 30 through Wednesday, Nov. 25 the contractor will reconstruct the southbound lanes and bridges through Sergeant Bluff.
Segment 2
Status update
Contractor will replace the southbound Floyd River bridge. Contractor will construct segments of frontage road north and southbound.

Status update
The sidewalk across the Gordon Drive Viaduct to Court Street.

Gordon Dr., Court St. to Virginia St. south side, Virginia St. to Pierce St. North side.
