Description: The work in this area involved
paving the new westbound roadway for I-235, and
the completion of three bridges. A new noise wall
was also constructed on the west side of I-235.
In
2002 the new westbound roadway was graded and
work began on the bridges at Easton Boulevard,
East 21st Street, and for a new westbound exit
ramp to University Avenue.
This
work was completed in Nov. 2003. Traffic will
be shifted to the new roadway in spring 2004.
Closures: The westbound exit and entrance
ramps at Easton Boulevard have been permanently
closed. The new westbound roadway in this area
was shifted to the west, which allowed construction
to take place with minimal impact to through traffic
on I-235.
When
work is completed, a new connection to Easton
Boulevard will be constructed.
