Note: The mainline paving project has been completed.
Project
Description:
The mainline traffic lanes from 8th St./73rd St. to near
Cottage Grove Ave. will be rebuilt.
The
28th St. and 35th St. bridges will be reconstructed.
Modifications
will be made to the 8th St./73rd St., Walnut Creek and
Cummins Parkway bridges.

Schedule: March - Dec. 2005
March - summer 2005 - Eastbound traffic will be switched
to two lanes in each direction head-to-head on the existing
westbound roadway while the eastbound roadway is reconstructed.

During this shift,
the eastbound entrance ramps at 42nd St. and 31st
St. will be closed. The eastbound exit ramp at 35th
St. will be closed permanently. |
Summer - Dec. 2005 - Westbound traffic will be switched
to two lanes in each direction head-to-head on the new
eastbound roadway while the westbound roadway is reconstructed.
Traffic
Impacts:
Two
lanes of traffic in each direction on I-235 will be maintained
during peak drive times.
Some
short term, and some longer term ramp closures will be
required during mainline construction.
