NOTE: The 42nd St. Bridge and all ramps are now open.

Project Description:
The 42nd Street interchange was reconstructed and a new bridge built.
35th Street under I-235 will be reconstructed.
Median work from Cummins Parkway to 35th Street will include storm sewer, barrier construction and paving of I-235.
The pedestrian bridges near 40th and 44th streets will be replaced with new arched-style bridges.

Project Schedule:
42nd Street Bridge and interchange - March - Aug. 2004
35th Street work - Aug. - Dec. 2004
Median work - April -Dec. 2004
Pedestrian bridges - Oct. 2004 - fall 2005

Traffic Impacts:
35th Street - 35th Street at I-235 will be closed during construction. The eastbound exit ramp at 35th Street will remain open during construction.
Median work - Three lanes of traffic in each direction will be maintained during peak driving times.
