INSPECTION & ACCEPTANCE
ORANGE MESH SAFETY FENCE
Orange mesh safety fence shall meet the requirements of applicable Iowa Department of Transportation Specification 4188.03.
Acceptance of orange mesh safety fence is based on manufacturer and brand name approval. Approved manufacturers and brand names are listed in Appendix A.
To obtain approval, the manufacturer shall submit the following to the Office of Materials in Ames, Iowa:
1. Product identification
2. Technical information describing product and use of the product
3. A full-width sample at least 4 ft. (1.2 m) long
To maintain an approved status, the manufacturer shall file a certification at the beginning of each calendar year stating that the material which will be supplied in the coming construction season will be identical to the previously tested and approved material.
Samples may be secured from the project and tested to verify compliance.
