Highway Helper

This program provides responsive assistance to motorists on the freeway and interstate systems in the Des Moines metropolitan area. The focus of the Highway Helper program is on getting people out of harm's way and maintaining traffic flow.  The Highway Helper trucks patrol the freeway and interstate systems in the Des Moines metropolitan area from 5 a.m. to 8 p.m., Monday through Friday, including some holidays.

Two specifically-equipped Highway Helper vehicles routinely patrol and assist motorists on the heavily traveled I-235 and I-35/-80 highways in the Des Moines metropolitan area.
