Meeting schedules
The Iowa Department of Transportation, in cooperation with the Federal Railroad Administration and Illinois Department of Transportation, is reaching the next phase of the Chicago to Omaha Regional Passenger Rail System Planning Study. The Iowa DOT is seeking public input concerning proposed route alternatives for intercity passenger rail service between Chicago, Ill., through Iowa, to Omaha, Neb. Findings from the route alternatives analysis will be presented at in-person and online, self-directed, open house meetings beginning May 1.
The open house is intended to:
- Illustrate the various route alternatives.
- Explain the process used to evaluate the route alternatives.
- Discuss findings of the alternatives analysis.
- Gain public input on the route alternatives.
Results from the route alternatives analysis will be presented at in-person and online, self-directed, open house meetings. The online meeting will be available starting May 1 through May 12, 2012.
In-person open house meetings were held in Chicago, Des Moines and Council Bluffs on May 1-3. The on-line meeting is available through May 21, 2012
