Demonstration projects
The Office of Bridges and Structure's Special Investigations Program at the Iowa Department of Transportation is responsible for the design, maintenance and rehabilitation of bridges and other transportation structures on the State Highway System. As atypical problems arise that cannot be addressed as part of the typical office planning process, special evaluations are often needed. The bridge engineer program at Iowa State University works with the office to develop special projects to address these needs and provides expertise to help solve practical problems or to explore solutions to unique problems.| Project | Documents/Photos/Plans |
