US 20 begins at the Iowa‑Nebraska state line in the City of Sioux City, and travels easterly via the City of Correctionville to the Woodbury-­Ida County line one mile northeast of the City of Cushing.

 

Due to an annexation to the south part of the City of Sioux City in the Lakeport Street and US 20 interchange area, the present description of US 20 in Woodbury County should be deleted and the new description added should be officially included in the primary road system to reflect this change in corporate limits.

 

PROPOSAL/ACTION RECOMMENDATION:

 

It is recommended the commission approve deleting the present description of US 20 in Woodbury County from the primary road system and approve including the attached new description of US 20 in the primary road system.

Completion of the US 20 Sioux City Bypass and subsequent traffic signing of that bypass route makes it necessary to delete the present official description for US 20 and substitute the new official description which is attached.

 

The American Association of State Highway and Transportation Officials approved the new route designation of US 20.  The State of Nebraska also concurs with the new alignment.

 

PROPOSAL/ACTION RECOMMENDATION:

 

It is recommended the commission delete the present description of US 20 in Woodbury County and approve the new US 20 description attached to this order.
