DISCUSSION/BACKGROUND:

 

Iowa Route 403 begins in the City of Cushing and proceeds northerly approximately two‑thirds mile to a junction with US Route 20 on the Woodbury‑Ida County line.

 

Due to transfer of jurisdiction agreement number TJ‑403‑0 (3)‑‑2M‑97, between the City of Cushing and the Iowa Department of Transportation, transferred that portion of Iowa 403 from Third Street to the north corporation line of Cushing to city jurisdiction on July 1, 1980.

 

Due to transfer of jurisdiction agreement number TJ‑403‑0 (2)‑‑2M‑97, between Woodbury County and the Iowa Department of Transportation, transferred that portion of Iowa 403 from the north corporation line of the City of Cushing north to a junction with US 20 approximately 1,100 feet west of the NE Corner Section 1‑T88N‑R42W to county jurisdiction on July 1, 1980.

 

PROPOSAL/ACTION RECOMMENDATION:

 

It is recommended the description of Iowa Route 403 in Woodbury County, as attached, be deleted from the primary road system.

 

Remove Iowa 403 and its extension in Woodbury County as follows:

 

Cushing:

 

Beginning on an unnamed street at Third Street; thence northerly and northeasterly to the north corporation line connecting with an unnamed street.

 

Beginning on the north corporation line of the City of Cushing connecting with an unnamed street; thence in a northeasterly and northerly direction through Section 1‑T88N‑R42W to the Woodbury‑Ida County line (junction US 20) at a point approximately 1,100 feet west of the NE Corner Section 1‑T88N‑R42W, Woodbury‑County (NW Corner Section 6‑T88N‑R41W, Ida County).

Iowa 403 begins in Cushing, and travels in a northerly direction to US 20 on the Woodbury‑Ida County line.

 

Due to a review of our Primary Road System Records Iowa 403 in Woodbury County should be deleted and the new description added should be officially included into the Primary System.

 

PROPOSAL/ACTION RECOMMENDATION:

 

It is recommended that the old description of Iowa 403 in Woodbury County be deleted and the new description, as referred in the attached detailed description, be included in the Primary Road System effective upon the adoption of this resolution.

 

Locate Iowa 403 and its extension in Woodbury County as follows:

 

Cushing:

 

Beginning on an unnamed street at 3rd Street; thence northerly and northeasterly to the north corporation line connecting with an unnamed street.

 

Beginning on the north corporation line of the City of Cushing connecting with an unnamed street; thence in a northeasterly and northerly direction through Section 1-­T88N‑R42W to the Woodbury‑Ida County line (junction US 20) at a point approx­imately 1100 feet west of the NE Corner Section 1‑T88N‑R42W, Woodbury County (NW Corner Section 6‑T88N‑R41W, Ida County).

Commencing on Main Street at the intersection of Main Street and 3rd Street; thence northerly and northeasterly on Main Street to the north corporation line.

 

Beginning on the north corporation line of the Town of Cushing, connecting with Main Street; thence in a northeasterly and northerly direction to the Ida‑Woodbury County line at a point approximately 1160 feet west of the NE Corner Section 1‑T88N‑R42W.

 

NOTE: Designation to become effective upon the completion and opening to traffic of relocation US 20, more specifically Woodbury County Project F‑2, FN‑2, FN‑1086 and Ida‑Woodbury County Project F‑2 (11).
