Beginning at a point approximately 625 feet west of the N ¼ Corner of Section 4‑T88N‑R47W (junction US 20); then west following substantially the section line of Sections 4 and 5‑T88N‑R47W to the east corporation line of Sioux City, connecting with Gordon Drive.

 

 

Sioux City:

 

Beginning on Gordon Drive at the east corporation line; then west, northwest and west on Gordon Drive to Pearl Street (east junction Interstate 29); then west and northwest on Interstate 29 to Riverside Boulevard (west junction Interstate 29); then northwest and north on Riverside Boulevard to Sioux River Road; then north on Sioux River Road to the north corporation line (Woodbury‑Plymouth County line).

 

Also with a spur:

 

Beginning at Riverside Boulevard (west junction Interstate 29); then northeast and east on Interstate 29 to the Interstate 29 southbound frontage road; then east to Virginia St.; then northeast on Virginia St. connecting to Gordon Drive.

DISCUSSION/BACKGROUND:

 

Iowa 12 presently begins at the junction of US 20 and Interstate 29 in Sioux City.  Due to the deletion of US 20 designation from the old alignment in Sioux City, the designation of Iowa 12 should be assigned to that route.

 

The present official description of Iowa 12 should be deleted and the new description of Iowa 12, as attached, be approved.

 

PROPOSAL/ACTION RECOMMENDATION:

 

It is recommended the Commission delete the present description of Iowa 12 in Woodbury County and approve the new description attached to this order.

 

Locate Iowa 12 and extensions in Woodbury County as follows:

 

Beginning at a point approximately 625 feet west of the N ¼ Corner of Section 4-T88N­R47W (junction US 20); thence westerly following substantially the section line of Sections 4 and 5‑T88N‑R47W to the east corporation line of the City of Sioux City connecting with an unnamed street.

 

Sioux City:

 

Beginning again on the east corporation line connecting with an unnamed street; thence in a westerly, northwesterly, westerly and northerly direction to the north corporation line of the City of Sioux City (Woodbury‑Plymouth County line), connecting with an unnamed street at a point approximately 800 feet west of the N ¼ Corner Section 2‑T89N‑R48W, Woodbury County (S ¼ Corner Section 35‑T90N‑R48W, Plymouth County).

Iowa 12 begins at Interstate 29 in Sioux City, and travels generally northerly through Sioux City to the north corporation line at the Woodbury‑Plymouth County line.

 

Due to a review of our Primary Road System Records Iowa 12 in Woodbury County should be deleted and the new description added should be officially included into the Primary System.

 

PROPOSAL/ACTION RECOMMENDATION:

 

It is recommended that the old description of Iowa 12 in Woodbury County be deleted and the new description, as referred in the attached detailed description, be included in the Primary Road System effective upon the adoption of this resolution.
