TITLE: Official Description Change: Unsigned Iowa 939, Wayne County

DISCUSSION/BACKGROUND:

Unsigned Iowa 939 begins at US 65 approximately nine miles west of the City of Corydon and travels easterly to Iowa 2 approximately three miles west of the City of Corydon.

Due to transfer of jurisdiction agreement number TJ‑939‑9 (2) ‑‑2M‑93 between Wayne County and the Iowa Department of Transportation approved June 11, 1980, unsigned Iowa 939 from US 65 near the NW Corner Section 27‑T69N‑R23W easterly to Iowa 2 in the east one‑half Section 22‑T69N‑R22W should be deleted from the primary road system and reverted to the Wayne County secondary road system effective July 1, 1980.

PROPOSAL/ACTION RECOMMENDATION:

It is recommended that the description of unsigned Iowa 939 in Wayne County, as referred to in the attached detailed description, be deleted from the primary road system.

Remove from the primary road system unsigned Iowa 939 in Wayne County as follows:

Beginning at the junction of US 65 at a point in the NW Corner of Section 27‑T69N‑R23W; thence easterly following the section line of Sections 27, 26 and 25‑T69N‑R23W and Sections 30, 29 and 28‑T69N‑R22W; thence easterly and northeasterly through Sections 27 and 22‑T69N‑R22W to a point approximately 2,500 feet east of the NE Corner SE ¼ SE ¼ Section 22‑T69N‑R22W connecting with relocation of Iowa 2.

PROPOSAL/ACTION RECOMMENDATION:

Beginning at the junction of US 65 at a point in the NW Corner of Section 27‑T69N‑R23W; thence easterly following the section line of 27, 26, 25‑T69N‑R23W, and Sections 30, 29, 28‑T69N‑R22W; thence easterly and northeasterly through 27 and 22‑T69N‑R22W to a point approximately 2500 feet east of the NE Corner SE ¼ SE ¼ Section 22‑T69N‑R22W connecting with relocation of Iowa 2.

NOW, THEREFORE: Be it resolved that the Iowa Department of Transportation approve the location of Unsigned Iowa 939 in Wayne County, Iowa.

NOTE: To become effective upon adoption of this resolution.
