TITLE: Official Description Change: Iowa 114, Washington County

DISCUSSION/BACKGROUND:

Iowa 114 begins at Iowa 92 approximately one mile west of West Chester and travels northerly to a point in Wellman, Iowa.

Transfer of jurisdiction agreement number TJ‑114‑0(3)‑‑2M‑92, between Washington County and the Iowa Department of Transportation, transferred that portion of Iowa 114 from Iowa 92 near the SW Corner Section 31‑T76N‑R8W northerly to the south corporation line of Wellman in Section 24‑T77N‑R9W to county jurisdiction on February 2, 1981.

Transfer of jurisdiction agreement number TJ‑114‑0(4)‑‑2M‑92, between the City of Wellman and the Iowa Department of Transportation, transferred that portion of Iowa 114 from the south corporation line of Wellman northerly to Iowa 22 to city jurisdiction on October 1, 1980.

PROPOSAL/ACTION RECOMMENDATION:

It is recommended the commission approve deleting the attached description of Iowa 114 in Washington County from the primary road system.

Remove Iowa 114 and its extension in Washington County as follows:

Beginning at a point near the SW Corner Section 31‑T76N‑R8W (junction Iowa 92); thence northerly following substantially the section line of Sections 31, 30, 19, 18, 7 and 6‑T76N‑R8W and Section 31‑T77N‑R8W to a point near the NW Corner Section 31‑T77N‑R8W; thence generally northwesterly through Sections 25 and 24‑T77N‑R9W to the south corporation line of the City of Wellman connecting with an unnamed street.

Wellman:

Beginning on the south corporation line connecting with an unnamed street; thence northerly to Sixth Street (junction Iowa 22).

Iowa 114 begins at Iowa 92 approximately one mile west-southwest of West Chester; and travels northerly to a point in Wellman, Iowa.

Due to a review of our Primary Road System Records Iowa 114 in Washington County should be deleted and the new description added should be officially included into the Primary System.

PROPOSAL/ACTION RECOMMENDATION:

It is recommended that the old description of Iowa 114 in Washington County be deleted and the new description, as referred in the attached detailed description, be included in the Primary Road System effective upon the adoption of this resolution.
