TITLE:  Official Description Change: Iowa 213, Wapello County

 

DISCUSSION/BACKGROUND:

 

Iowa 213 begins in the City of Blakesburg, and travels northerly to US 34 on the Wapello‑Monroe County line.

 

Transfer of jurisdiction agreement number TJ‑213‑0(3), between the City of Blakesburg and the Iowa Department of Transportation, transferred that portion of Iowa 213 from High Street westerly and northerly to the north corporation line to city jurisdiction on October 13, 1980.

 

Transfer of jurisdiction agreement number TJ‑213‑0(4), between Wapello County and the Iowa Department of Transportation, transferred that portion of Iowa 213 from the north corporation line of the City of Blakesburg northerly to the Wapello‑Monroe County line approximately 800 feet north of the W ¼ Corner Section 30‑T72N‑R15W to county jurisdiction on December 22, 1980.

 

Transfer of jurisdiction agreement number TJ‑213‑0 (4), between Wapello County and the Iowa Department of Transportation and transfer of jurisdiction agreement number TJ­213‑0 (2), between Monroe County and the Iowa Department of Transportation, transferred that portion of Iowa 213 from approximately 800 feet north of the W ¼ Corner Section 30-­T72N‑R15W north along the Wapello‑Monroe county line to US 34 near the NW Corner Section 30‑T72N‑R15W to local jurisdiction on December 22, 1980.

 

PROPOSAL/ACTION RECOMMENDATION:

 

It is recommended the commission approve deleting the present description of Iowa 213 in Wapello County from the primary road system.

 

Remove Iowa 213 and its extension in Wapello County as follows:

 

Blakesburg:

 

Beginning on an unnamed street at High Street; thence westerly and northerly to the north corporation line connecting with an unnamed street.

 

Beginning on the north corporation line of the City of Blakesburg connecting with an unnamed street; thence in a northerly direction through Sections 7 and 6‑T71N‑R15W and in a northwesterly direction through Sections 31 and 30‑T72N‑R15W to the Wapello‑Monroe county line at a point approximately 800 feet north of the W ¼ Corner Section 30-T72N-­R15W Wapello County (E ¼ Corner Section 25‑T72N‑R16W Monroe County); thence north along the Wapello‑Monroe county line following substantially the section line said Section 30 to a point near the NW Corner Section 30-­T72N‑R15W Wapello County (NE Corner Section 25‑T72N‑R16W Monroe County) (junction US 34).

DISCUSSION/BACKGROUND:

 

Iowa 213 begins in Blakesburg, and travels generally westerly and northerly to US 34 approximately 3 ½ miles north of Blakesburg, Iowa.

 

Due to a review of our Primary Road System Records Iowa 213 in Wapello County should be deleted and the new description added should be officially included into the Primary System.

 

PROPOSAL/ACTION RECOMMENDATION:

 

It is recommended that the old description of Iowa 213 in Wapello County be deleted and the new description, as referred in the attached detailed description, be included in the Primary Road System effective upon the adoption of this resolution.

 

Locate Iowa 213 and its extension in Wapello County as follows:

 

Blakesburg:

 

Beginning on an unnamed street at High Street; thence westerly and northerly to the north corporation line connecting with an unnamed street.

Beginning on the north corporation line of the Town of Blakesburg, connecting with Main Street; thence in a northerly direction thru Section 7 and 6‑T71N‑R15W and Section 31‑T72N‑R15W to the Wapello‑Monroe County line at a point near the SW Corner Section 30‑T72N‑R15W, Wapello County (SE Corner Section 25‑T72N‑R16W, Monroe County); thence north along the Wapello‑Monroe County line to a point approximately 60 feet north of the SW Corner Section 19‑T72N‑R15W, Wapello County (SE Corner Section 24‑T72N‑R16W, Monroe County).

 

NOTE: To become effective one year after notice is given to county that old location has reverted to the secondary road system.
