TITLE:  Official Description Change: Iowa 319, Taylor County

 

DISCUSSION/BACKGROUND:

 

Iowa 319 begins in Gravity, and travels southerly and easterly to Iowa 148 just east of Gravity.

 

Due to transfer of jurisdiction agreement number TJ‑319‑0 (1) ‑‑2M‑87 between the City of Gravity and the Iowa Department of Transportation approved April 17, 1980, that portion of Iowa 319 beginning at Fifth Street southerly and easterly to the east corporation line should be deleted from the primary road system and reverted to the city street system of Gravity effective July 1, 1980.

 

Due to transfer of jurisdiction agreement number TJ‑319‑0 (2) -‑2M‑87 between Taylor County and the Iowa Department of Transportation approved March 19, 1980, that portion of Iowa 319 from the east corporation line of Gravity northeasterly to a junction with Iowa 148 approximately 1000 feet north of the SW Corner Section 23‑T69N‑R34W should be deleted from the primary road system and reverted to the Taylor County secondary road system effective July 1, 1980.

 

PROPOSAL/ACTION RECOMMENDATION:

 

It is recommended that the description of Iowa 319 in Taylor County, as referred to in the attached description, be deleted from the primary road system.

Remove Iowa 319 and its extension in Taylor County as follows:

 

Gravity:

 

Beginning on an unnamed street at Fifth Street; thence southerly and easterly to the east corporation line connecting with an unnamed street.

 

Beginning on the east corporation line of the City of Gravity connecting with an unnamed street; thence northeasterly through Section 22‑T69N‑R34W to a point approximately 1000 feet north of the SW Corner Section 23‑T69N‑R34W (junction Iowa 148).

Iowa 319 begins in Gravity, and travels southerly and easterly approxi­mately ½ mile to Iowa 148 east of Gravity, Iowa.

 

Due to a review of our Primary Road System Records Iowa 319 in Taylor County should be deleted and the new description added should be officially included into the Primary System.

 

PROPOSAL/ACTION RECOMMENDATION:

 

It is recommended that the old description of Iowa 319 in Taylor County be deleted and the new description, as referred in the attached detailed description, be included into the Primary Road System effective upon the adoption of this resolution.

Locate Iowa 319 and its extension in Taylor County as follows:

 

Gravity:

 

Beginning on an unnamed street at Fifth Street; thence southerly and easterly to the to the east corporation line connecting with an unnamed street.

 

Beginning on the east corporation line of the City of Gravity connecting with an un­named street; thence northeasterly through Section 22‑T69N‑R34W to a point approximately 1000 feet north of the SW Corner Section 23‑T69N‑R34W (junction Iowa 148).
