TITLE:  Official Description Change: Iowa 231, Sioux County

 

DISCUSSION/BACKGROUND:

 

Iowa 231 begins in the City of Ireton, and travels easterly and northerly approximately two miles to Iowa 10.

 

An action by the State Functional Classification Review Board transferred that portion of Iowa 231 in the City of Ireton from Main Street easterly to the east corporation line and from the south corporation line northerly to the north corporation line, to city jurisdiction on July 16, 1981.

 

An action by the State Functional Classification Review Board transferred that portion of Iowa 231 from the east corporation line of the City of Ireton north along the east corporation line to the south corporation line of the City of Ireton, and from the north corporation line of the City of Ireton northerly to Iowa 10 near the NW Corner Section 5‑T94N‑R46W, to local jurisdiction on October 23, 1981.

 

PROPOSAL/ACTION RECOMMENDATION:

 

It is recommended the commission approve deleting the present description of Iowa 231 in Sioux County from the primary road system.

Remove Iowa 231 and its extensions in Sioux County as follows:

 

Ireton:

 

Beginning on an unnamed street at Main Street; thence easterly to the east corporation line connecting with an unnamed street.

 

Beginning on the east corporation line of the City of Ireton connecting with an unnamed street; thence northerly following substantially the section line of Section 8‑T94N‑R46W to the south corporation line of the City of Ireton connecting with an unnamed street.

 

Ireton:

 

Beginning on the south corporation line connecting with an unnamed street; .thence northerly to the north corporation line connecting with an unnamed street.

 

Beginning again on the north corporation line of the City of Ireton connecting with an unnamed street; thence northerly following substantially the section ­line of Sections 8 and 5‑T94N‑R46W to a point near the NW Corner Section 5‑T94N‑R46W, (junction Iowa 10).

Iowa 231 begins in Ireton, and travels easterly and northerly to Iowa 10 approximately ˝ mile east and 1 ˝ miles north of Ireton, Iowa.

 

Due to a review of our Primary Road System Records Iowa 231 in Sioux County should be deleted and the new description added should be officially included into the Primary System.

 

PROPOSAL/ACTION RECOMMENDATION:

 

It is recommended that the old description of Iowa 231 in Sioux County be de­leted and the new description, as referred in the attached detailed description, be included in the Primary Road System effective upon the adoption of this resolution.

Ireton:

 

Beginning on an unnamed street at Main Street, thence easterly to the east Corporation line connecting with an unnamed street.

Beginning on the south corporation line connecting with an unnamed street; thence northerly to the north corporation line connecting with an unnamed street.

 

Beginning again on the north corporation line of the City of Ireton connecting with an unnamed street, thence northerly following substantially the section line of Sections 8 and 5‑T94N‑R46W to a point near the NW Corner Section 5‑T94N‑R45W (junction Iowa 10).
