DISCUSSION/BACKGROUND:

Due to a review of our Primary Road System records, Iowa 2 in Ringgold County should be deleted and the new description added should be officially included into the Primary System.

Iowa 2 begins on the Ringgold‑Taylor County line approximately 3 miles west of Maloy and travels generally northerly and easterly via Benton, Mount Ayr and Kellerton to the Ringgold‑Decatur County line approximately 2 miles NE of Kellerton, Iowa.

PROPOSAL/ACTION RECOMMENDATION:

Locate Iowa 2 and its extensions in Ringgold County as follows:

Beginning on the Ringgold‑Taylor County line at a point (south junction Iowa 25) near the W ¼ Corner Section 19‑T68N‑R31W, Ringgold County (E ¼ Corner Section 24-T68N-R32W, Taylor County); thence north along the Ringgold‑Taylor County line following substantially the section line of Sections 19, 18 and 7‑T68N‑R31W to a point near the NW Corner Section 7‑T68N‑R31W, Ringgold County (NE Corner Section 12‑T68N‑R32W, Taylor County) (north junction Iowa 25); thence east following substantially the section line of Sections 7, 8, 9, 10, 11 and 12‑T68N‑R31W to the west corporation line of the City of Benton connecting with an unnamed street.
