Senate File 451 transferred Iowa 225 in its entirety, in Poweshiek County, to county jurisdiction on July 1, 2003.

DISCUSSION/BACKGROUND:

 

Due to a review of our Primary Road System records Iowa 225 in Poweshiek County should be deleted and the new description added should be officially included into the Primary System.

 

Iowa 225 begins on the Poweshiek‑Jasper County line approx­imately 2 ½ miles west of Searsboro, and travels easterly to Iowa 146 on the south corporation line of Searsboro, Iowa.

 

PROPOSAL/ACTION RECOMMENDATION:

 

Locate Iowa 225 in Poweshiek County as follows:

 

Beginning on the Poweshiek‑Jasper County line at a point near the W ¼ Corner Section 7‑T78N‑R16W, Poweshiek County, (E ¼ Corner Section 12‑T78N‑R17W, Jasper County); thence east following substantially the center section line of Sections 7, 8, and 9‑T78N‑R16W to a point on the south corporation line of the City of Searsboro approximately 700 feet west of the E ¼ Corner Section 9‑T78N‑R16W (junction Iowa 146).

 

NOW, THEREFORE: Be it resolved that the Iowa Department of Transportation approve the location of Iowa 225 in Poweshiek County, Iowa.

 

NOTE: To become effective upon the adoption of this resolution.
