TITLE:  Official Description Change:  Iowa 370, Pottawattamie County

 

DISCUSSION/BACKGROUND:

 

Iowa 370 begins on the Pottawattamie‑Mills county line approximately one mile east of Interstate 29, and travels northeasterly approximately one mile to a junction with US 275.

 

Transfer of jurisdiction agreement number TJ‑370‑0(2), between Pottawattamie County and the Iowa Department of Transportation, transferred Iowa 370 from the Pottawattamie­ Mills county line near the SW Corner 33‑T74N‑R43W northeasterly, easterly and southeasterly to US 275 approximately 900 feet south of the center Section 33‑T74N‑R43W to county jurisdiction on October 6, 1980.

 

PROPOSAL/ACTION RECOMMENDATION:

 

It is recommended the commission approve deleting the present description of Iowa 370 in Pottawattamie County from the primary road system.

 

Remove Iowa 370 in Pottawattamie County as follows:

 

Beginning on the Mills‑Pottawattamie County line near the SW Corner Section 33‑T74N‑R43W, Pottawattamie County (NE Corner Section 5‑T73N‑R43W, Mills County); thence in a northeasterly, easterly and southeasterly direction through said Section 33 to a point approximately 900 feet south of the center of Section 33‑T74N‑R43W (junction US 275).

DISCUSSION/BACKGROUND:

 

Due to a review of our Primary Road System records Iowa 370 in Pottawattamie County should be deleted and the new description added should be officially included into the Primary System.

 

PROPOSAL/ACTION RECOMMENDATION:

 

It is recommended that the old description of Iowa 370 in Pottawattamie County be deleted and the new description, as referred in the attached detailed description, be included in the Primary Road System effect­ive upon the adoption of this resolution.

Locate Iowa 370 in Pottawattamie County as follows:

 

Beginning on the Mills‑Pottawattamie County line near the SW Corner Section 33‑T74N‑R43W, Pottawattamie County (NE Corner Section 5‑T73N‑R43W, Mills County); thence in a northeasterly, easterly and southeasterly direction through said Section 33 to a point approximately 900 feet south of the center of Section 33‑T74N‑R43W (junction US 275).
