Transfer of jurisdiction agreement number 2002-TJ-014, between the Polk County and the Iowa Department of Transportation, transferred that portion of Unsigned Iowa 945 from the north corporation line of Bondurant connecting with Grant Street; thence north following substantially the section line of Sections 30 and 19‑T80N‑R22W to a point near the NE Corner Section 19‑T80N‑R22W (junction NE 94^th Avenue (used to be Unsigned Iowa 931)) to county jurisdiction on August 11, 2003.

New Description – Unsigned Iowa 945 in Polk County described as follows:

Beginning at a point approximately 2,500 feet south of the NW Corner Section 7‑T79N‑R22W (south ramps of Interstate 80); thence north 950 feet following substantially the section line of Section 7‑T79N‑R22W to the north ramps of Interstate 80.

DISCUSSION/BACKGROUND:

Transfer of jurisdiction agreement number TJ‑000‑0 (8), between Polk County and the Iowa Department of Transportation, and transfer of jurisdiction agreement number TJ‑000‑0 (1), between the City of Bondurant and the Iowa Department of Transportation, transferred the road section from the south ramps of Interstate 80 approximately 2500 feet south of the NW Corner Section 7‑T79N‑R22W northerly to near the NW Corner Section 19‑T80N‑R22W to state jurisdiction on July 24, 1980. The road section is now designated unsigned Iowa 945.

Unsigned Iowa 945 begins at the south ramps of Interstate 80 just south of the City of Bondurant, and travels northerly via the City of Bondurant to a point approximately 1 ½ miles north of the City of Bondurant.

PROPOSAL/ACTION RECOMMENDATION:

It is recommended the commission approve including the attached description of unsigned Iowa 945 in Polk County in the primary road system.

Locate unsigned Iowa 945 and its extension in Polk County as follows:

Beginning at a point approximately 2500 feet south of the NW Corner Section 7‑T79N‑R22W (south ramps of Interstate 80); thence northerly following substantially the section line Section 7‑T79N‑R22W (junction Interstate 80) to the south corporation line of the City of Bondurant connecting with an unnamed street.

Bondurant:

Beginning on the south corporation line connecting with an unnamed street; thence northerly, northeasterly, northwesterly, and northerly to the north corporation line connecting with an unnamed street.

Beginning again on the north corporation line of the City of Bondurant connecting with an unnamed street; thence northerly following substantially the section line of Sections 30 and 19‑T80N‑R22W to a point near the NE Corner Section 19‑T80N‑R22W (junction unsigned Iowa 931).
