Due to the relocation of Iowa 415 in Polk County in the fall of 1993, the official description in the Primary Road System should be revised to reflect this change.

 

At about the same time the old sections of Iowa 415 became Iowa 915.

 

PROPOSAL/ACTION RECOMMENDATION:

 

It is recommended that the old description of Iowa 415 in Polk County be deleted from the Primary Road System and the new description, as described in the attachment, be included in the Primary Road System.

Due to the relocation of Iowa 415 in Polk County on March 14, 1986, a portion of the former route of Iowa 415 was transferred to Polk County by transfer of jurisdiction agreement number 91-TJ-010 in February 1991.

 

The section of old Iowa 415 being transferred to the county begins on NW Polk City Drive from a point located approximately 670 feet west and 220 feet north of the E ¼ Corner of Section 34-T80N-R24W; thence northwesterly approximately 0.75 miles to another point on the Ankeny corporate limits located approximately 1230 feet west and 150 feet south of the N ¼ Corner of Section 34-T80N-R24W.

 

PROPOSAL/ACTION RECOMMENDATION:

 

It is recommended to delete the section of old Iowa 415 described from the primary system.

 

Old Description - Iowa 415 in Polk County as follows:

 

The section of old Iowa 415 being transferred to the county begins on Northwest Polk City Drive from a point located approximately 670 feet west and 220 feet north of the E ¼ Corner of Section 34-T80N-R24W; thence northwesterly approximately 0.75 miles to another point on the Ankeny corporate limits located approximately 1230 feet west and 150 feet south of the N ¼ Corner of Section 34-T80N-R24W.

Iowa 415 has been relocated at the south edge of Ankeny and was opened to traffic on March 14, 1986.  The old alignment of Iowa 415 is to be transferred from State to County jurisdiction.

 

The official description of Iowa 415 in Polk County should be revised to reflect this relocation.  The remainder of Iowa 415 in Polk County remains unchanged.

 

Iowa 415 begins at a junction with US 6 in the City of Des Moines and travels northwesterly via the cities of Ankeny and Polk City to a junction with Iowa 17 one and one half miles south of Madrid.

Transfer of jurisdiction agreement number TJ‑415‑1(13), between the City of Polk City and the Iowa Department of Transportation, transferred NW Madrid Drive from Third Street northwesterly and northerly to the north corporation line to state jurisdiction on July 1, 1982.  This street section is now designated as a portion of Iowa 415.

 

Transfer of jurisdiction number TJ‑415‑1(14), between Polk County and the Iowa Department of Transportation, transferred the county road section from the north corporation line of the City of Polk City in the NW ¼ Section 35‑T81N‑R25W northwesterly to a junction with Iowa 17 near the NW Corner Section 7‑T81N‑R25W to state jurisdiction on January 1, 1981.  This road section is now designated as a portion of Iowa 415.

 

Iowa 415 begins at a junction with US 6 in the City of Des Moines and travels northwesterly via the City of Polk City to a junction with Iowa 17 approximately one and one‑half miles south of the City of Madrid.

 

PROPOSAL/ACTION RECOMMENDATION:

 

It is recommended to approve deleting the present description of Iowa 415 in Polk County from the primary road system and approve including the attached new description of Iowa 415 in the primary road system.
