Beginning at a point (junction Iowa 3) near the SW Corner Section 32‑T92N‑R31W; thence north following substantially the section line of Sections 32, 29, 20, 17, 8 and 5‑T92N‑R31W to the west corporation line of Rolfe connecting with Broad Street.

Rolfe:

Beginning on Broad Street at the west corporation line; thence east on Broad Street to Garfield Avenue; thence north and northeast on Garfield Avenue to the north corporation line.

Beginning again on the north corporation line of Rolfe connecting with Garfield Avenue; thence east following substantially the section line of Section 5‑T92N‑R31W to a point near the SW Corner Section 33‑T93N‑R31W; thence north following substantially the section line of Sections 33, 28 and 21‑T93N‑R31W to a point approximately 1,200 feet south of the NW Corner Section 21‑T93N‑R31W; thence curving northeasterly to a point approximately 1,200 feet east of the NW Corner of said Section 21; thence east following substantially the section line of Section 21‑T93N‑R31W to a point approximately 1,150 feet west of the NE Corner of said Section 21; thence curving northeasterly through Section 16‑T93N‑R31W to a point approximately 1,200 feet north of the SW Corner Section 15‑T93N‑R31W; thence north following substantially the section line of Sections 15 and 10‑T93N‑R31W to a point approximately 1,200 feet south of the NW Corner Section 10‑T93N‑R31W; thence curving northeasterly to a point approximately 1,200 feet east of the northwest corner of said Section 10; thence east following substantially the section line of Sections 10, 11 and 12‑T93N‑R31W to the Pocahontas‑Humboldt County line at a point near the SE Corner Section 1‑T93N‑R31W, Pocahontas County (SW Corner Section 6‑T93N‑R30W, Humboldt County).

DISCUSSION/BACKGROUND:

Due to a review of our Primary Road System Records Iowa 15 in Pocahontas County should be deleted and the new description added should be officially included into the Primary System.

Iowa 15 begins at a junction with Iowa 3 approximately 5 miles south of Rolfe and travels generally northeasterly via Rolfe to the Pocahontas-Humboldt County line approximately 1 mile south of the NE corner of Pocahontas County, Iowa.

PROPOSAL/ACTION RECOMMENDATION:

Locate Iowa 15 and its extension in Pocahontas County as follows:

Beginning at a point (junction Iowa 3) near the SW Corner Section 32‑T92N‑R31W; thence northerly following substantially the section line of Sections 32, 29, 20, 8 and 5‑T92N‑R31W to the west corporation line of the City of Rolfe connecting with an unnamed street.

Rolfe:

Beginning on the west corporation line connecting with an unnamed street; thence easterly and northerly to the north corporation line connecting with an unnamed street.

Beginning again on the north corporation line of the City of Rolfe connecting with an unnamed street; thence easterly following substantially the section line of Section 5‑T92N‑R31W to a point near the SW Corner Section 33‑T93N‑R31W; thence northerly following substantially the section line of Sections 33,28, and 21‑T93N‑R31W to a point approximately 1200 feet south of the NW Corner Section 21‑T93N‑R31W thence curving northeasterly to a point approximately 1200 feet east of the NW Corner of said Section 21; thence easterly following substantially the section line of Section 21‑T93N‑R31W to a point approximately 1150 feet west of the NE Corner of said Section 21; thence curving northeasterly through Section 16‑T93N‑R31W to a point approximately 1200 feet north of the SW Corner Section 15‑T93N‑R31W; thence northerly following substantially the section line of Sections 15 and 10‑T93N‑R31W to a point approximately 1200 feet south of the NW Corner Section 10‑T93N‑R31W; thence curving northeasterly to a point approximately 1200 feet east of the northwest corner of said Section 10; thence easterly following substantially the section line of Sections 10,11 and 12‑T93N‑R31W to the Pocahontas‑Humboldt County line at a point near the SE Corner Section 1‑T93N‑R31W, Pocahontas County (SW Corner Section 6‑T93N‑R30W, Humboldt County).

NOW, THEREFORE: Be it resolved that the Iowa Department of Transportation approve the location of Iowa 15 in Pocahontas County, Iowa.

NOTE: To become effective upon the adoption of this resolution.
