DISCUSSION/BACKGROUND:
On June 3, 1986
the Iowa Department of Transportation Commission approved the relocation of
Iowa 22 from a junction with relocated US 61 at a point approximately 800 feet
west of the N ¼ Corner Section 33‑T77N‑R2W north, northeast and
east to a junction with relocated US 61 and old US 61; thence south on old US
61 to a junction with present Iowa 22.
Transfer of
jurisdiction agreement number TJ‑22‑0(35)‑‑2M‑70
between the City of Muscatine and the Iowa Department of Transportation,
transferred that portion of Iowa 22 from the west corporation line east and
southeast to a junction with Iowa 92 to city jurisdiction on July 1, 1986.
The
remaining portion of old Iowa 22 from a junction with relocated US 61 at a
point approximately 800 feet west of the N ¼ Corner Section 33‑T77N‑R2W
east to the west corporation line of Muscatine should be re-designated as Unsigned
Iowa 917 and the official description of Unsigned Iowa 917 in Muscatine County
should be added to the Primary Road System to reflect these changes.

RECOMMENDATION:
It is
recommended to approve adding the description of Unsigned Iowa 917 in
New
Description ‑ Unsigned Iowa 917 in
Beginning at
a point approximately 800 feet west of the N ¼ Corner Section 33‑T77N‑R2W;
thence east following substantially the section line of Section 33 to the west
corporation line of Muscatine at a point near the N ¼ Corner Section 33‑T77N‑R2W.
