DISCUSSION/BACKGROUND:

Transfer of jurisdiction agreement number 2003-TJ-021, between Muscatine County and the Iowa Department of Transportation, transferred that portion of unsigned Iowa 373 from approximately 890 feet west of the SE Corner Section 26-T76N-R03W (at a dead end); thence northeasterly to Fruitland Road/County Road G38 at a point near the S ¼ Corner NW ¼ Section 25-T76N-R03W to county jurisdiction on June 6, 2003.

Transfer of jurisdiction agreement number 2003-TJ-009, between the city of Muscatine and the Iowa Department of Transportation, transferred that portion of unsigned Iowa 373 from approximately 1290 feet south and 910 feet west of the NE Corner Section 19-T76N-R02W (junction of Iowa 61); thence northerly and northeasterly through Sections 19, 20, and 17-T76N-R02W to approximately 660 feet north of the E ¼ Corner of said Section 17 (at a dead end) to city jurisdiction on May 1, 2003.

PROPOSAL/ACTION RECOMMENDATION:

It is recommended to approve deleting the present description of unsigned Iowa 373 and its extensions in Muscatine County from the Primary Road System.

New Description - Unsigned Iowa 373 and its extensions in Muscatine County described as follows:

Beginning approximately 890 feet west of the SE Corner Section 26-T76N-R03W (at a dead end); thence northeasterly to Fruitland Road/County Road G38 at point near the S ¼ Corner NW ¼ Section 25-T76N-R03W.

Muscatine:

Beginning approximately 1290 feet south and 910 feet west of the NE Corner Section 19-T76N-R02W (junction of Iowa 61); thence northerly and northeasterly through Sections 19, 20, and 17-T76N-R02W to approximately 660 feet north of the E ¼ Corner of said Section 17 (at a dead end).

PROPOSAL/ACTION RECOMMENDATION:

It is recommended to approve adding the description of Unsigned Iowa 373 in Muscatine County to the Primary Road System.

New Description - Unsigned Iowa 373 and its extensions in Muscatine County described as follows:

Beginning at approximately 890 feet west of the SE Corner Section 25-T76N-R03W (at a dead end); thence in a northeasterly direction to Fruitland Road (a secondary road) (approximately 2950 feet north and 1230 feet east of the SE Corner Section 25-T76N-R03W).

Muscatine:

Beginning at the junction of US 61 (approximately 1090 feet south and 910 feet west of the NE Corner Section 19-T76N-R02W); thence north and northeast approximately 2000 feet south of NE Corner Section 17-T76N-R02W to a dead end.

PROPOSAL/ACTION RECOMMENDATION:

It is recommended to approve adding the description of Unsigned Iowa 373 in Muscatine County to the Primary Road System.
