Beginning on the Montgomery‑Page County line at a point near the SW Corner Section 33‑T71N‑R38W, Montgomery County (NW Corner Section 4‑T70N‑R38W, Page County); thence northerly following substantially the section line of Sections 33, 28, 21, 16, 9, and 4‑T71N‑R38W and 33‑T72N‑R38W to the south corporation line of Red Oak connecting with Broadway Street.

Red Oak:

Beginning on Broadway Street at the south corporation line; thence north on Broadway Street to the north corporation line.

DISCUSSION/BACKGROUND:

Due to a review of our Primary Road System records, Iowa 48 in Montgomery County should be deleted and the new description added should be officially included into the Primary System.

Iowa 48 begins on the Montgomery‑Page County line approximately 7 miles south of Red Oak and travels northerly and easterly via the cities of Red Oak and Elliot to the Montgomery‑Cass County line approximately 2 miles northeast of Elliot, Iowa.

PROPOSAL/ACTION RECOMMENDATION:

Locate Iowa 48 and its extensions in Montgomery County as follows:

Beginning on the Montgomery‑Page County line at a point near the SW Corner Section 33‑T71N‑R38W, Montgomery County (NW Corner Section 4‑T70N R38W, Page County); thence northerly following substantially the section line of Sections 33, 28, 21, 16, 9, and 4-T71N‑R38W and 33‑T72N‑R38W to the south corporation line of the City of Red Oak connecting with an unnamed street.

Red Oak:

Beginning on the south corporation line connecting with an unnamed street; thence northerly to the north corporation line, connecting with an unnamed street.
